Who We Are John C. Noonan, founder and President of Storm King Surveying and Mapping, Inc., has had a life-long fascination with maps. A resident of Colorado since 1971, and the Yampa Valley since 1982, he is a 1977 graduate of the University of Colorado- Boulder. John entered the Land Surveying profession in 1990, and has been constantly involved in workshops, seminars, and continuing education in order to keep the company current with the rapid and constant progression of the technology and software involved in this, purportedly, the world's second oldest profession. John has assembled a tech savvy team that can engage any project, small or large, with a concise and cost-effective solution. Storm King Surveying and Mapping, Inc. has particular expertise and experience in boundary retracement, ground control for photogrammetric and LIDAR aerial surveying, and hydrological mapping and analysis. As a member of the Board of Directors of Professional Land Surveyors of Colorado, Vice-President of NW 1/4 Colorado Land Surveyors, Founding Member of the Colorado Spatial Reference Network, and long time member of the National Society of Professional Surveyors, John stays connected to the Professional Land Surveyor community on a local, state, and national level.
